The family of a Sacramento woman who died after taking part in a water drinking contest is suing the radio station that sponsored the contest.

On Thursday, an attorney representing the family said that a wrongful death suit will be filed on behalf of Jennifer Strange's husband and children, accusing the station of acting irresponsibly.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is investigating the details of the incident however, no criminal charges are expected.

"Everything we have been able to determine so far in the investigation shows that they didn't pay attention or even take the time to investigate or research the potential consequence of such a contest," said attorney Roger Dryer. "We believe they went ahead and this contest irresponsibly and inappropriately."

Jennifer Strange died last Friday of water intoxication after competing in the contest. Strange was trying to win a Nintendo Wii video game system.

During the contest, Strange consumed nearly two gallons of water.
